If you’re from Oregon, it is a mandatory rite of passage to make a trip to Powell’s City of Books—the largest new and used book store in the nation! Occupying three stories of what used to be a downtown Portland car dealership, Powell’s has been buying and selling new and used books for over 35 years. Whatever you’re searching for, you’re sure to find it in one of the shops’ 9 color-coded rooms that house over 1,000,000 volumes! What makes it even better is that you can browse and order directly from their website, or by phone to their call center!
